Quality Control Process for Stock Springs

At CompressionSpring.com, quality control is one of the most important parts of the spring distribution process. It allows us to ensure that all the springs we send out are accurate high quality products and that our customers are satisfied with their order. To us, it is about more than just the spring you receive, it is about our customers, their products and their satisfaction. That is why we want to share some insight as to the quality control processes we complete when you order a stock spring.

  • It is important to know that, since we manufacture our stock springs ourselves, these go through a the same quality control process as custom compression springs. The process difference changes the moment they come out of the machines. After being manufactured, they bring them in to get measured and load-tested. Then, they are labeled and placed in the appropriate stock storage location.
  • Once an order comes in for a stock part number, the springs are brought over from the stock warehouse to run through a second quality control check before being packaged.
  • If the parts require secondaries they will first go through whatever secondary process they require. Such as; additional grind requested by the customer.
  • After secondaries are completed, the spring dimensions are measured again to verify that these are correct.
  • If the calls out or requests that the springs meet a certain rate or force, the springs are load tested.
  • After verifying all physical specs,  the springs get labeled and packaged so they can be shipped out.

In most cases, we can provide certificates of conformance (CFC) or material certificates. However, because these are stock springs and some may stay in stock for very long periods of time, we may not have the information available at the time you place the order.
